JACOB LEE MOSER

Jacob Lee Moser, age 83, of Marysville, formerly of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2016, at Cambridge Place Nursing Home in Marysville.

Lee was born November 3, 1932, at Marysville, to Jacob C. and Dorothy K. (Rockwell) Moser. He graduated from Marysville High School in 1950. He had served in the US Navy from 1952 to 1956. In 1956 he married Eileen Manning, they later divorced.

Lee served for 21 years as a police officer and member of the arson squad for Nassau County Police Department on Long Island, New York. While working for the police department he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Dowling College in Oakdale, New York. After retiring from the police department, he moved to Phoenix, Arizona, where he continued using his law enforcement skills as private investigator, bounty hunter and arson investigator. He also worked as an accountant and at his retirement worked for the Arizona Department of the Taxation.

Lee was a member of the United Church of Christ in Marysville and the Nassau County Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association where he served four years as treasurer.

Survivors include his brothers Dean (Jeanie) Moser of Waterville, Dennis (Joyce) Moser of Topeka, Marty Walsh of Long Island, New York, and sister-in-law, Maureen Moser of Marysville, as well as many nieces and nephews, five children Lynn (John) Gladysz of New York, Brian Moser of California, Lee Moser of New York, Corey (Andrew) Reinbeck of Florida, Patricia (Mitchell) Spector of New York, and ten grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.

Lee was preceded in death by both parents, a son Manning Moser, two brothers; Benjamin Moser and Dale Moser and Dale’s wife Natalie, a sister Darlene Moser White, and a niece Kathy Planthaber.

Graveside Services are planned for 10:00 am, Monday, October 24, 2016, at Marysville City Cemetery in Marysville with Reverend Greg Doll officiating. Casket Bearers were members of his family. Military Honors were presented by the US Navy Honors Detail.

Memorials are suggested to the Jacob Lee Moser Memorial Fund to be designated later and may be sent in care of the funeral home at PO Box 61, Waterville, KS 66548.
